recentley i've been thinking how many ideas that photography could interpret to and how many different ways you can alter just one picture.

So Emancipated Artists, y'all show me what y'all like to do, and your best picture of that style :)

Here's my style. Everywhere i go i have my camera on me, it's a baby to me, no matter where i go i'm always taking pictures, whether it's on the go, taking my time, or just stopping and admiring it, i capture it all, every moment. This is my initiative on photography my style, it's hard for me to see myslef setting up all the equipment, and the lighting and what not, i guess this would be travel photography but hey it could some other farout name :). here's my best picture.

Great picture! It's funny how an unusual perspective on an everyday object completely changes the overall impact. The laces in your picture bring to light the years of tying, untying, rain, dirt, sun; you can almost feel everything the laces have gone through. This is something I generally overlook when I look at a shoe.

I personally like low light shots. I love how bright colors - from lights for example - pierce the dark background of a low light picture. One of my personal favorites (a favorite because of the overall experience, not just the shot) is my profile pic. I took this on vacation in Istanbul with a point and shoot. I love the blue sheen reflecting on the water, offset by the bright lights of the bridge and city. Turkey in general is a photographers’ country. Every corner you turn there is a scene begging to be photographed.

I love shots that invoke a feeling or thought that’s not immediately obvious. Shots that make you think in a different way. This is the immense power of photography.. it continues to amaze me.

Great shot! I agree with Aydin's comments. Would love to see more of your work ... Do you have a gallery?
no i don't have a gallery :/, but i guess just go to my profile..everyone can view my photos there
I loosely refer to my style as "PHOTOGENY", a term meaning the successful linkup between the photographer's eye and a subject's visual appeal (hence photogenic).
It's mainly expressed in my preference of photographing jazz artists. I found my music background to be extremely valuable when attempting to capture the intensity of a musician or singer's expression through a lens. I learned there's more to jazz than meets the ear. Visualizing its many moods and colors transcends the sound. The management of sound transformed to the manipulation of light seems like a "natural" to me. Capturing the anticipated climax of a musical phrase can reverberate forever in a photograph. And it's that expression that makes the difference. The process is complete when the performer and I become synced with each others rhythms. Currently I am an event photographer. A large number of my assignments consist of photographing jazz performances and festivals where my camera becomes my instrument and I get to perform along with the artist.

that's cool, i like the emotion and intensity it gives, like you were actually there screaming and sweaty right in from of them. haha
I guess I would describe my most common style of photography as "morphing". I take images of common everyday subjects and blend or "morph" them into something new. Sometimes the results are obvious as to what the original subject was (as in the "Abandoned #2" image) while others are so abstract that there is no way to tell what the original subject material was (as in "Reflection"). I use anywhere from 1 to a dozen images to create the results, along with any number of filters and Photoshop tools.

I use several cameras and lenses to take the initial photographs including a Canon 10D (my first digital SLR), a Canon Xti and my Nikon P6000 point & shoot. I rarely throw out any image as sometimes a poor, unfocused image can be used creatively in one of my morphed results.

I also love to shoot "conventional" images as well - from cars to flowers to birds to buildings to landscapes (in other words - almost anything). I have attached a shot I took of "El Capitan" in Yosemite National Park- one of my all-time favorite places to take pictures.

For anyone that is interested in viewing some of my other images, please visit my web site at www.morpheusdreamscapes.com The results are not everyone's cup of tea, and sometimes it is difficult to interpret the image to one's satisfaction. However, I get a huge kick out of creating these images and have managed to sell a few along the way.

I look forward to hearing from any and all as to what they think of my images (good or bad).
