I was excited recently when I found out a photo I took in Toronto (of the Flatiron Building) was included in the Schmap Toronto Guide (http://www.schmap.com/toronto/tours_tour2/#p=177373&i=177373_40...)

Has anyone used Schmap.com as a tool for gaining credibility as a photographer, by getting images published? Seems like it could be a good way for a beginner to build a portfolio of published images.

Although I must say, I kinda wish I would have digitally watermarked that image before putting it on Flickr.

Way to go, Jeff!

I'm curious: How did you find out that the photo was on Schmap? Is there a way to track the "migration" of your Flickr photos to other places on the web?
I found out because Schmap emailed me and said they were planning to use the photo in their Toronto guide. Regarding the migration question, if I had remembered to digitally watermark the images before I posted them on my Flickr account, that would definitely have helped!
I had one of my photos included in their Prague edition.

They linked back to my Flickr account, but that was all.
Sounds like Schmap is safe and useful if you get included...but that you won't make it big from being on their site!
Hehehe, I certainly haven't got any work through it! ;o)
They emailed me and used one of my photos for Hawaii's volcano tours brochure. It was Digimarc'd
